LA Galaxy and U.S. Men’s National Team forward Landon Donovan is all but set to join Everton FC on a three month loan spell, according to reports out of the U.K.
“Sources at Everton have confirmed that negotiations are at an advanced stage with the 27-year-old, the USA’s all-time leading scorer with 42 goals from 120 games and a countryman of the Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard,” the Guardian reported Dec. 9.
“Everton are closing in on the three-month loan signing of USA striker Landon Donovan, BBC Sport understands,” says a BBC.
“The Los Angeles Galaxy star is believed to be in advanced discussions with the Premier League side about a three-month loan switch as he bids to maintain his fitness before the World Cup in June,” added Sky Sports.
The reports come 13 months after Donovan joined German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich on a similar deal. He previously spent two brief periods at Bayer Leverkusen.
